1st Generation: During the transatlantic slave trade the Europeans unknowingly brought African alchemist to the Caribbean. These Africans practiced an ancient science called ‘Obeah’, which the Europeans mistake for magic. Lead by an Obeah woman named Nanny, slaves in Jamaica were able to escape from their oppressors and form the first free Maroon towns. During the Haitian revolution the African Syantis also helped Toussaint L’ Ouverture to free the slaves of Haiti.
2nd Generation: The British recruited African American slaves to fight on their side during the American war of 1812, among the combatants were also a few Obeahmen. After the war the black soldiers were given their freedom, and later settled in Canada and Trinidad where they formed the Merikin community. A century later World War 1 starts, and the West India Regiment recruits Obeahmen to help the British fight German forces in east Africa. Code named: Operation-O.
3rd Generation: Today most people in the West Indies have forgotten how to use Obeah science, and have given rise to charlatans trying to trick people of their money. But the descendants of Operation-O still practice the art-form, and is fighting a new war against extra-dimensional beings called Duppies.
